E’ iniziata l’edizione 2009 del Toyko Toy Show. Quest’anno abbiamo un corrispondente d’eccezione: si tratta della sexy idol giapponese Julie (aka  Amano Ai) che è appena apparsa in un bel servizio sulla rivista D di La Repubblica. Fra i prodotti più interessanti c’è il nuovo robot di Doraemon realizzato dagli ingegneri della Bandai. Purtoppo non può muoversi ma è dotato di una potente scheda di controllo che gli permette di comunicare con il proprietario (oltre 1300 espressioni memorizzate). Ad esempio se fa caldo si lamenterà del caldo eccessivo e grazie a vari sensori potrà comunicare in modo credibile con gli esseri umani. Gli occhi sono realizzati grazie a due display LCD che riproducono 10 stati d’animo differenti e rendono ancora più manga questa robottino.

MY DORAEMON Communication Robot

Today is the second day of the TOKYO TOY SHOW 2009. I just went back to Europe for summer vacations so we got a special correspondent from the event: the Japanese Sexy “geek” idol Julie (aka Amano Ai)!
The show seems even bigger than the last year so the economy is affecting the toy market less than expected (probably because several years ago the Japanese toy industry started to focus also on adult gamers).

One of the most interesting novelties is the new DORAEMON robot produced by BANDAI. The bot is called “Communcation Robot” since thanks to a control board connected to several sensors is able to interact with the user. Thank to a motion sensor Doraemon looks at you when he speaks. Thanks to the internal clock/calendar and the light and temperature sensors the robot is able to have “credible” communication (more than 1.300 phrases in memory) especially thanks to a special algorithm that help Doraemon talk back based on the length of the sentences from the user. To make the communication more real and fun the robot has two LCD as eyes and can show different emotions resembling the original manga drawing.

This robot costs 31.000 yen (ca $300) and will be released at the beginning of september.
