Tokyo - Per gli appassionati di robot la Bandai ha preparato una sorpresa molto speciale: il Gundam alto 18 metri di Odaiba è stato decorato con migliaia di LED e alle sue spalle, sul muro esterno del centro commerciale Diver City, viene proiettato un breve filmato animato natalizio con i mecha protagonisti della saga mascherati da Babbo Natale intenti a consegnare regali nello spazio utilizando la Base Bianca come slitta…

Last saturday I was in Odaiba for the Maker Faire Tokyo 2012 and spotted the life size Gundam (that stands in front of the shopping mall Diver City) decorated with Christmas lights.

The 18 meters Mobile Suit is decorated with thousands of LEDs and on the wall of Diver City a short Christmas CG animation is projected every 30 minutes. In the video Gundam is dressed like Santa Claus and delivers gits around the Galaxy riding a “White Base” sled driven by a Zakrello reindeer.

“The Gundam Light Up” show will be held till 25 December. This is probably the geekest way to celebrate Christmas in Japan this year!
