L’elimodellismo incontra l’informatica grazie alla nuova piattaforma Innovator RC creata dalla Thunder Tiger dopo vari anni ricerca e sviluppo. L’idea di base somiglia a quella delle dNaNo della Kyosho, ma la ditta taiwanese (distribuita in Italia dalla SabattiniCars) ha portato l’integrazione fra modello radiocomandato e PC a un livello mai visto prima.

Innovator RC
The Taiwanese company Thunder Tiger has created a really interesting USB RC helicopter series called Innovator  RC. For the first time an high-performance helicopter (not a toy) is integrated with a PC trough an USB interface.
The USB link permits setting the helicopter transmitter programs, such as throttle curve, pitch curve, servo travel, gyro gain, through a personal computer. The Innovator software PC contains a  gligh simulator to learn how to flight and can also analyze the data recorded on the onboard control device during the flight.
The computer can also display alarm messages and detailed status of the onboard ICS system. There are 2 models in the Innovator  Series: the MD530 (for beginners) and the EXP for 3D flight. Both are controlled by a 6 Channel 2.4GHz spread spectrum radio control system.
