Yesterday I attended the summer edition of Wonderfestival 2011 (a Japanese hobby show held in Tokyo) where I spotted the prototype of a new low cost milling machine from Roland called iModela iM-01.

The device will be released before the end of the year. It will require near zero maintenance and will be sold with a software for 3D milling and a simpler “2.5 D” one (you can see it in this photo).
